Welcome
The Whiteford Volunteer Fire Company is an organization dedicated to providing quality Fire & Emergency Medical Services to our communities. Our personnel is comprised of approximately 70 active volunteer firefighter/EMT's. Our primary area protects a population of 6000 that covers 25 square miles of vast rural and historic district.

The Whiteford VFC is dedicated to serving the citizens of Whiteford, Cardiff, Pylesville and Street areas. We also provide mutual aid to the surrounding Mason-Dixon line communities of Delta, Fawn Grove, Norrisville, Darlington, Jarrettville, and Bel Air.

BOX 615 - MVA

At 1902hrs. Whiteford Volunteers were dispatch to the 3700blk. of Propsect Rd. for an Motor Vehicle Accident. At 1903hrs. Chief 6, Chief 6-2, & U1497 called enroute, followed by R651 & A692 at 1908hrs. Dispatch advised responding units that caller reporting a single vehicle rollover with 2 patients that were out of the vehicle. Chief 6 instructed all responding units to use caution due to dense fog in the area. At 1915hrs. units arrived and found a single vehicle roll-over with one adult & one pediatic patients that had self-extricated from the vehicle. Patients were treated and transported to UCMC. Units cleared at 1945hrs.

BOX 614 - MVA - HIT & RUN

At 2058hrs. Whiteford Volunteers were dispatched to the intersection of Ady & Cherry Hill Roads for an MVA involving a motorcycle. At 2059hrs. Chief 6, U1496, & E1012 (Stand-by crew) called en route, shortly followed by R651 & A691. Dispatch advised units that callers were reporting a Hit & Run accident involving a motorcycle. At 2103hrs. units arrived and found a single motorcycle and operator lying in the roadway. The patient was evaluated as a Category C and Medi-Vac was requested to the scene. Medi-Vac was canceled due to the extended ETA and the patient was transported by land to Shock Trauma. Units cleared at 2140hrs.

CONGRATUTIONS TO STEVE & LAURA-LYNN SOLLE

Congratulations to Steve & Laura-Lynn Solle on their marriage on Saturday, October 26, 2008. Both Steve & Laura-Lynn are active members of WVFC. The wedding was held at the Bethany Baptist Church in Airville, with a reception at the Jarrettsville Gardens. A great time was had by all, despite the rain. WVFC wishes Steve & Laura-Lynn many years of happiness together. Special thanks to the crews from Airville (Sta. 55) & Rawlinsville (Sta.5-8) VFC's for providing the 6 hours of stand-by service. Of course, no calls were received.


 
 
BOX 1010 - DWELLING FIRE - 2A

At 0433hrs. Whiteford Volunteers were dispatched for an engine to Co. 10 (Norrisville) first due for a 2nd. alarm dwelling fire located on Church Lane. At 0439hrs. E611 and arrived at 0445hrs. Co. 10 & mutual aid companies were working a fully involved dwelling fire. Crew assisted with overhaul and water operations. Units cleared at 0630hrs.

BOX 614 - MVA

At 0915hrs. Whiteford Volunteers were dispatched for an MVA at the intersection of Ady & Cherry Hill roads. At 0917hrs. A692,U1496,Chief 6 called enroute, followed by R651 at 0918hrs. Units arrived and found a two vehicle side impact accident with one vehicle resting on it's side. All occupants had self-extricated prior to arrival. At 0930hrs. Command requested 2nd. EMS unit, with A691 & E613 calling enroute at 0935hrs. All patients were treated & transported. Units cleared at 0955hrs.

BOX 927 - MUTUAL AID -BUILDING FIRE

At 0903hrs. Whiteford Volunteers were dispatched for one engine to Co. 9 (Darlington) first due for a building fire in the 4100blk of Conowingo Rd.  At 0906hrs. E612 called enroute. At 0908hrs. Co. 9 units arrived and found a 8x12 shed fully involved. Command reduced the assignment and placed E612 in-service. E612 cleared at 0910hrs.

At 0146hrs. Whiteford Volunteers were dispatched for a transfer assignment to Lancaster Co. Sta. 5-8 (Rawlinsville VFC). At 0203hrs. E611 called enroute after clearing an AFA call at the North Harford Middle School and arrived at 0219hrs. BOX 806 - MUTUAL AID - FATAL MVA

At 2137hrs. Whiteford Volunteers were dispatched for the Light Tower to Co. 8 (Joppa-Magonlia) first due for a light detail. Co. 8 units were on-scene of a fatal MVA located in front of their Hanson Rd. station. At 2145hrs. BOX 923 - MUTUAL AID - DWELLING FIRE

At 1906hrs. Whiteford Volunteers were dispatched for an engine to Co. 9 (Darlington) first due for a Dwelling Fire in the 1900blk. of Franklin Church Road. At 1906hrs. E611 called en-route and arrived at 1912hrs. Command reported light smoke showing from the dwelling. Crews found a working chimney fire with extension into the walls. E611 crew assisted with salavage & overhaul operations. Units cleared at 2130hrs.

At 0245hrs. Whiteford Volunteers were dispatched to the 1300blk. of Heaps Rd. for a Building Fire. At 0249hrs. E612 & Chief 6-2 called enroute and were advised of a working shed fire. At 0256hrs. E612,E914, & Chief 6-2 arrived and reported a fully involved 8'x12' shed to the rear of the dwelling. Command held the assignment to the engines on location. Units cleared at 0400hrs.

At 1108hrs. Whiteford Volunteers were dispatched for a transfer assignment to Lancaster Co. Sta.5-8 (Rawlinsville VFC). Willow Street VFC (Sta. 5-12) and mutual aid companies were battling a large barn fire in Providence Twp. At 1113hrs. E613 responded and arrived at 1136hrs. At 1232hrs. Command requested E613 to the scene. The crew assisted with overhaul operations. Unit cleared at 1425hrs.

BOX 614 - MVA/FLY-OUT

At 2108hrs. Whiteford Volunteers EMS were dispatched to the intersection of Ady & Prospect Roads for a respiratory call. At 2119hrs. M692 arrived and found an overturn vehicle off the roadway with the operator ejected. M692 requested an MVA assignment, which brought E613 to the scene, and Medi-Vac. EMS personnel package the patient and transported to the landing zone (LZ) that was secured by E613. The patient was flown to Shock Trauma by Trooper 1. Units cleared at  2205hrs.

At 1513hrs. Whiteford Volunteers were dispatched for 2 engines in Co. 9 (Darlington) first due for a building fire located in the 3900blk. of Paddick Road. At 1518hrs. E612 called enroute, followed by E611 at 1520hrs. Chief 9-1 arrived and reported a fully involved 30x30 storage shed. Crews arrived and assisted with fire and overhaul operations. Units cleared at 1659hrs.

At 1719hrs. Whiteford Volunteers were dispatched for 2 Engines to Co. ( Darlington) first due for an Alarm of Fire in the 3200blk. of Scarboro Rd. at the Landfill. At 1722hrs. E612 called enroute, follwoed by E611 at 1733hrs. Co. 9 units arrived and found a working truck fire and reduced the assignment to 3 Engines. E612 arrived at 1730 and assisted with overhaul operations. Units cleared at 1739hrs.

At 1243hrs. Whiteford Volunteers were dispatched for an MVA on Pylesville Rd. just south of the fire station. At 1243hrs. C-6,C6-1,U1496,A691,E613 called enroute. At 1245hrs. units arrived and found a single vehicle that had traveled off the roadway and struck several trees. The driver was evaluated and Medi-vac was requested. The driver was transported to Shock Tramua by Trooper 1. Units cleared at 1326hrs.
