Tuesday, May 25, 2010 - At 2210hrs. Whiteford Volunteers were dispatched for an environmental rescue in the 800blk. of Federal Hill road. Dispatch advised A691 that a 60 year old male subject had fallen from a tree stand in the woods and unknown distance to access the patient. Chief 6 requested SU688 & E611 to the scene. At 2220hrs. Chief 6, A691, U1496, U671,SU688,E611 arrived on scene. Crews located the patient about 1 mile from the roadway in the woods. The patient had fallen 30ft. from a tree stand ramp and was lying down a 12 degree slope. The patient was quickly evaluated as a Category A - Priority 1 patient. Command upgraded to rescue assignment and requested Medi-vac. Rescue assignment brought R751, E714 & Light Tower 6 to the scene. It was learned that the patient had been at this location since 1400hrs. until discovered by friends. Crews quickly mobilized the patient and deployed a Z-rig rope mechanical system to assist with the slope evacuation. The patient was extricated from the site at 2311hrs. Patient was transported to Shock Trauma by Trooper 1.
