E612 arrived and the crew deployed 2 - 1 3/4 hand-lines and began an aggressive interior attack. The fire was knocked in about 10 mins. Additional arriving crews conducted search & rescue, ventilation, checked for extension. Crews located several animals, including a cat that was overcome by smoke that was treated by EMS personnel. Other animals were removed from residence. Crew remained for salvage & overhaul operations. The Red Cross & Fire Marshal arrived on location. The FM investigation determined the cause from a malfunction fan. Units cleared at 1703hrs.
